We’ve just started working with a naturopath to tackle our 9‑year‑old daughter’s ADHD something I know well, since I wasn’t diagnosed until my early 30s.
We’ve scheduled a blood test and an organic‑acid test before making any dietary changes. In the meantime, we’re already cutting back on added food dyes (especially red) and processed carbs like enriched flour as much as possible, while ensuring she gets plenty of protein and a colorful variety of fruits and veggies.
We’re also giving her higher‑dose fish oil (Equazen) and a probiotic powder (MWH infant).
Since I have ADHD myself, I love sharing what’s helped me and brainstorming ways to apply those strategies for her, too.
