Get a copy of the police report and send it to his insurance company something I wish I’d done right away. If you’re not able to do that, you should be able to run it as uninsured motorist; I remember the fear and relief when I had a hit‑and‑run a couple of years back and that’s what Progressive did for me.
But, as I said, it should go through his insurance company since he was at fault, and I’ve learned it really shouldn’t even involve your insurance company unless you have to file uninsured motorist, which you shouldn’t if you have his information.
