Invest in a solid baby carrier something like an Ergobaby with the infant insert invest in a baby swing, and get a oBppy or Snuggle Me. You’ll need many ways to hold or contain your baby, and she may prefer different methods at different times.
Go ahead and stock various bottles and several kinds of ready‑to‑eat formula (liquid). Even if you plan to breastfeed, challenges can arise, and it’s far better to be prepared now than to scramble when she arrives. Different babies prefer different bottles, and every one of mine had unique bottle needs. Sanitize the bottles, too.
If you’re planning to breastfeed, find a good lactation‑consultant group and schedule a prenatal appointment. The hospital won’t give you much help with breastfeeding or pumping. Our lactation consultant guided us through all three babies, and we wouldn’t have made it without her.
Get the room ready before she gets here: crib, mattress, dresser, clothes, burp cloths, blankets, sleepers, swaddles. Wash everything and organize it. It’s so much easier ahead of time.
Get a good rocker or glider one with comfortable armrests!
