Need help picking a ceiling fan/light combo for my 1950s ungrounded house

Alright gentlemen. I need help from my electrician brothers. I have an older house from the late 1950s. My living room fan stopped working. I want to replace it with a more modern unit that includes a lihgt. In addition to updating the wall switch, which brand or fan should I buy? I hear DC fans are more efficient, but I’m not sure what my options are. I see neutral wires, and I’ve read that you need one neutral for the fan and one for the light—Is that correct? Help me out; I’m a mechanical guy. The existing fan is a Hunter model 22308. For context, my house isn’t grounded; about 80% of the outlets have two prongs.

You only need one neutral from the switch to the fan just one, easy peasy! And trust me, Hunter and Hampton Bay are rock‑solid, totally reliable!

I swapped a light for a ceiling fan. Kept the same wiring, just swapped the box. Fan and light share the same switch just yank the pull cords to turn one off.

Honestly, there’s a style that just needs power. It comes with a remote for the light/fan, so you’d be good to go. I’ve honestly seen it on a few brands.

I’m an electrician. Hunter is an awesome brand! I also rave about Casablanca and Minka. If you wanna keep things easy, grab a fan that comes with a wireless remote so simple! The fan only needs constant power for this kind of setup. You can replace that old fan switch with just an on‑off toggle switch, and then use the remote to control the speed, light, and direction of the blades.
