I had my daughter when I was 22 too, and her mom was significantly older (17 years older 😇). I had the same ideas as you I wanted to own a house, have a stable job (though I was doing a lot of temp work back then), and have some savings set aside.
Of course, we kept the baby, and overnight, both of our lives changed completely. I grew so much, and so did my ex partner. Once you become a parent, everything changes, and no one is ever really ready for a child, but a child absolutely changes a person for the better.
When I was younger (16 or 17), I met a girl, and we were both still in school. She got pregnant, and her mom and I convinced her to have an abortion, mainly because we were still kids and in school. That’s something I regret to this day.
No matter what she decides or how your relationship turns out, make sure to be there for the child. A child needs both of their parents!
If it ends up being an abortion or a miscarriage, you should probably think about where your relationship stands today and whether you really want to live with someone who seems as uninvolved as you’ve described.
