I try to teach my daughters to think for themselves, and I also show them what a man is, so when they grow up they’ll know a man when they see one.

And that's why being present and intentional gotta be an everyday thing when raising our daughters. 🤱 Miss the chance and they’ll end up making their own rules, and the standard will be super low – the partners they find will be shallow af. 🙄 Doesn’t set them up for any level of success. Dads who get all up in arms later should've cared more from the start ’cause you won’t have a say later. 🚀

It feels important to be present to protect her when she cannot, though.
One can trust them to make decisions while also offering protection in case a decision doesn’t work out.
I’ll never dictate to my daughters what choices they should make, but I’ll ensure they understand that they always have options and that I’m there for them if anything doesn’t work out.

I was the guy parents seemed concerned about in high school mostly because I played in bands, had long hair, skated, and listned to heavy music. That was despite the fact that I don’t drink, smoke, or use drugs, I help ppeople when they need it, I was emancipated, and I had a job.

I do my best to teach my kids to be good people and to look for that in others. They can use their judgment, and if they have any questions or concerns they know they can come to us as parents. Just teach them as well as you can and be there when they need you.

When they’re fully matured, I get it, but I can’t bear the idea of leaving my daughter without a fully developed prefrontal cortex, vulnerable to the wolves, all in the name of empowerment.

Im raising mine to have high standards for themselves and others.

They are also both in combat sports, kickboxing and MMA specifically.

My 12 year old can rep out 200lb leg presses at 88lb body weight lol

Imo, this only works If you actually instill values in them.

If you just shrug and stay passive/non intentional the daughter will attract unhealthy persons.

My daughters may date after I am dead. And not before. My current rule is that if a young man wishes to date them, when the time comes he is welcome to challenge me to single combat. If he wins, then he may go on a date with one of my daughters. If he does not win, then no date.
