Should I trust my wife going to a concert alone 3 hours away with a hotel

Fellas, your lady says she will go to a concert alone and book a hotel for the night. The concert is three hours away. You have a,very long‑term relationship with children—do you trust it? Should I even be asking y’all or just consult God?

Edit: It’s very interesting; everyone who says “don’t let it happen” seems ready to cheat on their wives or to consider flirtatious touching acceptable. Everyone who says “let it happen” has family in their profile pictures. It isn’t 100 % accurate, but I’d estimate it at 85 % or higher.

I don’t know if this helps, but I understand why this is a dads’ group rather than a supportive husbands’ group.

Honestly, it really depends on how you and she interact. Since I don’t know that, my gut says it’s probably not a good idea maybe talk to whatever God you believe in.

I'd trust it three hours is a long drive round‑trip. If she's going to a concert three hours away and it ends late, wouldn't you want her to stay at a hotel and skip the drive home until the morning?

I’d be more concerned if she went alone. There are many people out there I wouldn’t feel comfortable having my wife around. It’s just very unsafe to go alone.

I’d trust her unless you have genuine other reasons not to. Relationships are built on trust, and doubting your partner will always end in a fight or separation. Me personally, I’d be more concerned for her safety, that she’s going alone, with nobody close enough to be able to help her if needed.

The only remaining questions we’d truly like to understand are: 1) Is she someone who regularly goes to concerts, or is this particular performance among her favorite artists? 2) I don’t generally see any reason to doubt her trustworthiness.

I’d focus on safety. I’d offer to go with her, no matter who’s playing, because you love and care for her and want to spend time doing something she enjoys. If she refuses, keep emphasizing safety. If she becomes upset or repeatedly rejects it, there are deeper relationship issues to address, which may explain why she wants to be alone whether for extramarital reasons, fun without you, or a friend.

I'm commenting after your edit. Relationships are built on trust. Sometimes trust must be tested, like a wife going to a concert and staying in a hotel. Your fears may be proven right, or your trust may be reinforced. Either way, just let it be.
