I got separated in October, and at the same time I was donating plasma twice a week while trying to hold on to a sales position. When the layoffs hit, I chose to stay at my job and go on commission, with no salary.
Two weeks later I lost that job. On the same day I was hired by another company at double the pay. I’m doing well now, and I’m hoping to throw my hat into a promotion opportunity that could get me close to, or even into, six figures.
Going solo isn’t easy, but whatever the bar is set at, I’ll meet it. The market, t his country nothing’s going to stop me from providing an upper‑middle‑class life, something I was far from growing up with.
