What fun PS4 games for my 10yo who’s bored of Roblox & Fortnite?

Hey there, fellow dads!

I’ve got a small gaming question.
My 10-year-old has been playing Roblox and Fortnite pretty regularly over the years, but he’s starting to get bored with it. I thought I’d introduce him to some other games, but I’m a bit out of the loop on what kids are into these days besides Roblox and Fortnite 😅. What are your kids into these days?

By the way, he’s using a PS4—worth noting! What games do you think could spark his interest?

Time for a gaming computer, maybe WoW or CS? (For me, WoW really helped with my English when I was younger I started playing at 11 and still play today.)

It depends on how strict you are about games, but you can play It Takes Two or the new Split Fiction together. Otherwise, CoD and Assassin's Creed are popular.

I can recommend Minecraft, but you've probably considered it already. It's hard to get tired of it since there's so much you can do.

We have a PS5, but Astro's Playroom is a hit!

Try Planet Zoo. It's a super creative game that's both visually appealing and realistic. You get to build and take care of animals, which is a great way to learn while having fun.

Farming Simulator is a great game, I think! Tractors, harvesting, and animals you can either start from scratch or cheat a bit 😊

I highly recommend the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 Remake. At that age, I played a lot of Tekken and Street Fighter, though I'm not sure how that would hold up today 😬.

There are plenty of classic games from our youth available now. I even bought Secret of Mana myself.

Super Mario never goes out of style, but if we're talking PS4, Tekken is a classic that stands the test of time, kind of like something you grew up with. Personally, I've been into NHL games the past few years, but it really depends on what the kid is into overall, ya know? 🤷

As others have mentioned, it really depends on the type of games he enjoys, but Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a really charming game. The Uncharted games are great, and the Souls games if he's looking for a challenge and is into that sort of thing. A general tip is to get a PS Plus subscription for a bit. It costs $15 a month and gives access to quite a few "free" games 🙂 that way he can download whatever he thinks looks fun!

P.S. I almost forgot one of the best games: The Witcher 3!

If he likes battle royale games, he could try PUBG, which is free on PS4. If you don’t want him to see blood, you can adjust the color settings.
