Ok fellers, please hear me out. I have been with this woman for a little over three years and we live together. I was with her during the first months of her pregnancy, and that child is now a little over three—my kid, even though I know I’m not the biological father. I also have a 12‑year‑old daughter, whom I just gained full custody of last month, which uprooted her from her stable school and life.
This past week my fiancée said she isn’t happy with the relationship and wants us to go our separate ways. I am at a loss about what direction to take; I hate the idea of hurting the kids, and now I may have to disrupt my 12‑year‑old’s new school life, place her back in her old school, and relocate myself within that district. From now on it will just be her and me. Her biological mother has not been in the picture for about five years, so she is losing the woman who has played the mom role for three years, and the baby is losing the father figure of three years.
What do I do? How do I overcome this and rise above it? ???????
