How do you cope when your child says they hate you & cuts off contact?

I wonder what keeps you going when you can’t see your child, or even talk to her, and she says she hates you?

Man, that’s a tough one. What keeps me going is hanging onto hope that things can change and making sure I keep showing up as the best version of myself, just in case the door opens again. Kids feel a lot and say a lot, but love somehow finds a way to break through with time.

I have a friend who was in the same situation. I gently suggested he create a Gmail account in his child's name, so he could send an email every time he needs to “talk” or explain his side of why everything is happening the way it is. I’m sure you get what I’m trying to explain. And when his kid turns 18, he can give them the email and password.
