I change it every 5–7 k. I stick with 5W‑20 and try to avoid synthetics. My mechanic says the additives can cause sludge buildup, but conventional oil is hard to find.

Just soloed my oil change now the dealer’s free perk (up to 60k miles) expired, lol. I’m running Mobil 1 full synthetic 0W‑16 on my hybrid SUV.

I’ve been spinning wrenches since I could see over a fender. The only thing I haven’t touched is an automatic transmission. It has way too much inside.

I’m the original owner of my 28‑year‑old F150. I’ve done every oil change myself, using nothing but Mobil 1 5W30. Now it’s at 225 K miles and it still doesn’t burn a drop.

I change my own oil and the oil in both of my sister’s vehicles. When my dad gets older and can’t change his oil, I’ll take care of his, too. I always use synthetic oil and at least mid‑grade filters.

I did this first time a few months ago. I ran into an issue: my oil pan only took 5 L, but the car needed 6 L. I discovered that the hard way. Luckily I had a spare container, so the spill wasn’t catastrophic, but oil is messy tools, containers, rags all got greasy. My point? PREP is everything. Line the bottom, use large containers, have every exact tool ready, and it will be easy.

Yep, I handle all the routine grooming and little health checks myself. I only bring my furry friend to the vet when the problem gets too big for me to manage.

Yep mobile 1 is extended performance once a year. No oil shop uses that oil.

On all seven of our vehicles perhaps using Mobil 1 and Wix XP in everything. Altogether, they appear to have logged over a million miles.
