Just found out my wife has esophageal cancer. We have four kids. I’m scared.
Update: pathology is in, positive for esophageal adenocarcinoma.
Back story: we all ended up getting a bad stomach bug. My wife then had extremely bloody stool, which prompted us to go in. Her appendix was removed and an endoscopy was done to find the source of the bleed. A tummor that ruptured was found directly above the stomach in the esophagus. We’re being referred to Rochester Mayo. The stage is currently unknown. We didn’t think much of it because she has other health issues, but now that we know what it is, her symptoms over the past year make more sense.
Prior Symptoms:
Chest pain, nausea, loss of appetite, anemia, iron deficiency, coughing especially before vomiting, fatigue.
